Waxing, Done the Way You'd Want

Waxing is one of those services where the technician matters more than the location, the price, or the brand. A skilled wax tech makes the experience feel quick, professional, and routine — even for Brazilians, even for first-timers. An unskilled one can make the same service feel rushed, painful, or just awkward in ways that take the experience from "something I do every six weeks" to "something I dread."

Our team takes waxing seriously. Calm, confident, no commentary. You're in and out efficiently without ever feeling rushed. We've trained on body areas across the full spectrum, we know how to keep conversation light when conversation is welcome and stay quiet when it isn't, and we'll never make you feel anything less than completely respected in the room.

Why we list pricing publicly

You'll notice every service on our waxing menu shows its price. We do this because waxing is one of those services where opacity makes people anxious — "I'm about to pay how much for this?" is not the question we want you asking on the table. Prices are listed below. No surprises.

What to Expect at Your Appointment

Plan to arrive about 5 minutes early

We're by appointment only, so plan to arrive 5 minutes early. When it's time to come inside, we'll send you a text. You'll be greeted with your choice of soothing tea or cold water and walked back to a private treatment room.

You'll change in private

Your technician will step out while you undress only as much as the area you're waxing requires. For brow, lip, and chin: you stay dressed. For underarm, arm, back, or leg: you'll partially undress with draping. For bikini or Brazilian: from the waist down, with full draping until the moment of the wax.

The wax itself

Most body waxing is done with hard wax that's applied warm and removed without strips — gentler on skin and more thorough on coarse hair than older strip-wax techniques. Your technician will work in sections, applying and removing each in just a few seconds. Brazilian waxes typically take 25–35 minutes total; brow waxes are usually under 10.

You'll leave with aftercare guidance

What to avoid for the next 24–48 hours (heat, tight clothing, exfoliating products), and how to set up a maintenance routine to minimize ingrowns and maximize how long results last.

If This Is Your First Wax

Especially if it's your first Brazilian or bikini wax, here's what we want you to know:

Hair length matters

About 1/4 inch is the sweet spot — roughly two weeks of growth from a clean shave. Too short and the wax can't grip the hair. Too long and the process is more uncomfortable than it needs to be. If you're not sure if you're ready, text us a photo (clothed, of just the length you have grown out) and we'll tell you honestly.

Don't shave between waxes

The single biggest mistake new wax clients make is "tidying up" with a razor between appointments. This resets the hair growth cycle and undoes the gradual thinning benefit that consistent waxing provides. If you wax, just wax. We promise it's easier in the long run.

Caffeine and alcohol increase sensitivity

If you have the choice, skip your morning coffee and last night's wine before your appointment. Both can make skin more reactive to the wax.

Ibuprofen 30 minutes before helps

Not required, but if you're nervous about discomfort, 400–600mg of ibuprofen taken 30 minutes before your wax can take the edge off meaningfully.

It really does get easier

The first Brazilian is the hardest. The second is meaningfully easier. By the fifth, most regulars describe it as a quick, routine appointment they barely think about. Hair grows back finer and less densely each time.

Tell your technician it's your first time

We'll go slower, explain what's happening, and check in throughout. We've done thousands of first waxes — nothing about your experience will surprise us.

Aftercare

First 24 hours

Ongoing care between waxes

If you get an ingrown

Don't pick or dig. Apply warm compresses 2–3 times a day to soften the skin and encourage the hair to surface naturally. If you're prone to ingrowns, ask your technician for product recommendations — there are excellent over-the-counter options that prevent most cases.

Common Combinations

Most of our regulars book one of these stacks:

The "morning routine reduction" stack

Brazilian + underarm + brow + lip. About 60 minutes total. The full set of "things you'd otherwise be doing in front of a mirror," done in one calm visit every 4–6 weeks.

The "pre-vacation" stack

Brazilian + bikini line cleanup + full leg + underarm. About 90 minutes total. The week before you leave for the beach. Don't forget the SPF for the freshly waxed skin.

The pre-wedding stack

Book waxing 5–7 days before the wedding (not the day before — you want any redness fully settled by the day of). Pair with lash lift, brow lamination, and tinting for the complete pre-wedding prep.

The maintenance combo

A single area (brow, lip, or underarm) every 4 weeks. The cheapest, simplest version of waxing maintenance — popular for clients who shave the rest themselves.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does hair need to be for waxing?

About 1/4 inch (roughly 2 weeks of growth from a clean shave). Too short and the wax can't grip; too long and the process is more uncomfortable than it needs to be. If you're between waxes and unsure, text us and we'll help you decide whether to schedule now or wait.

Does waxing hurt?

There's discomfort, especially the first few times. It's brief — the actual hair removal is over in seconds per pull. Most clients describe the discomfort as a sharp pinch rather than a sustained pain. Pain decreases dramatically over time as the hair grows back finer and less densely. Many regulars say their fourth or fifth Brazilian feels half as intense as their first.

How often should I wax?

Every 4–6 weeks is the standard cadence. The hair grows back on roughly that cycle, and consistent waxing trains the hair to grow back finer over time. Going longer between visits means more discomfort and less of the "hair-thinning" compounding benefit.

What about ingrown hairs?

Ingrowns are the most common waxing complaint and are largely preventable. Exfoliate gently 2–3 times per week between waxes (a soft washcloth or KP Bump Eraser works well), avoid tight clothing immediately after a wax, and keep the area moisturized. We'll give you specific recommendations based on your skin and which area you're waxing.

Can I wax during my period?

Yes, with a tampon in place. Be aware that skin tends to be more sensitive during the few days before and the first days of your period, so the wax may feel more intense. If you have flexibility, scheduling 7–10 days after your period starts is the sweet spot for comfort.

Will I need to undress completely?

Only the area being waxed needs to be exposed. We provide draping and step out of the room when you change. For face waxing (brow, lip, chin), you stay fully clothed. For Brazilian, bikini, and leg waxing, you'll undress from the waist down with draping in place.

Is this my first wax — what do I need to know?

Show up clean, with hair grown out to about 1/4 inch. Avoid caffeine and alcohol that day (they increase skin sensitivity). Take ibuprofen 30 minutes before if you're nervous about discomfort. Tell us it's your first time — we'll go slower, explain everything, and check in throughout.

Can I get waxed while pregnant?

Yes, with one caveat: pregnancy increases skin sensitivity, so waxing may feel more intense than usual. Many clients still wax through their entire pregnancy. We'll check in throughout your appointment and adapt pressure and pacing accordingly.

What if I have to cancel last-minute?

Same-day cancellations and no-shows are difficult on our small team. We have a cancellation policy in place — please give us as much notice as possible. If something genuinely unexpected comes up, just text us and we'll work it out.

Why is Brazilian and bikini for female clients only?

This is a policy decision that reflects our team's training and comfort. Our wax technicians are trained and certified in techniques appropriate for our current client base. We respect every client who walks in our door and will gladly help refer you elsewhere if our menu doesn't fit your needs.
